Edge of Darkness
Jan.30 2010 by: Jeremy
Went and saw "Edge of Darkness" yesterday. Pretty good political thriller. Blood-sucking CEO's, murderous Gub'ment thugs, ELF corpses and an evil Republican Senator from Massachusetts (the most proposterous concept of all...oh wait...)
I like Mel's directing career and all, but I miss his acting. Whatever his baggage, he's still great on screen (even with his Boston-by-way-of-Australia accent.) Add in Ray Winstone and I'm sold...although leaving important twists to be delivered in his Irish-mush-mouth voice was not helpful (plot-point-wise).
Up in The Air
Jan.24 2010 by: Jeremy
Saw "Up in The Air" a couple of days ago and I liked it alot. It was really funny.
Now I'm watching "Dumbo", which is also about flying.
The Perfect Getaway
Jan.16 2010 by: Jeremy
Watched "The Perfect Getway" last night. Not a bad film. Pretty scenery, terrible southern accents, hippies in handcuffs and it even teaches you how to process a goat (might come in handy someday, who knows?). It has some pretty good twists too. All in all, worth a rental.
New Year
Jan.9 2010 by: Jeremy
Happy new year everyone! I took the end of the month off to visit various families all over the nation (just like in "Four Christmases!") so there hasn't been a comic since mid-december (and a proper one since November considering the last FlickSkinny was for a "one-weekend only" Dave Matthews concert event).
Well, we're back now anyway and I'm going to try to turn over a new blog-leaf (as I failed to do last year.) So this is it, I'm going to try to review most new movies I see here in print so check in from time to time to see how long it takes me to fail to accomplish this modest goal.
In my defense though, between running a video-store, a bar, a comic, a radio-show and raising a crumb-cruncher, blogging just seems like just another pain in my ass. Hey, at least I'm too BUSY
to remember to blog, instead of just LAZY.
